Family...

Those close and dear to me know my love for Beaty family history and family in general...Recently visiting Salem, NY and the surrounding areas gave me an even larger appreciation for my family name. Realizing that the Beaty, Beatty, and Beattie names were a huge part of the early Salem Town and Village, I plan on eventually putting together some kind of website to honor my ancestors from the area. I may even initially just add it to josephbeaty.com. Visiting the farm my 2nd Great Grandfather built on land purchased & acquired by my 4th Great Grandfather in Salem brought tears to my eyes. Beautifully restored. Landscape was just breath taking. I had spoken to the current owner of the property about a visit but did not have the time. My last visit was less about family history and more about living relatives. Some on my Father and Mother's side as well. A few more I need to meet and visit soon. I cannot wait to go back to do a more involved and focused research. I would love to spend a week in Salem doing just that. Visit my brother, Aunt...and other relatives of course in neighboring cities. I have an enormous sense of pride being a Beaty. I can only hope that someone in the future will take the elaborate study of our history and pass it on. I can only hope that our name and family line will continue to flourish and decorate the earth. I hope to also someday write a collection of songs inspired by the Beaty's of Salem. Ahh...NY...
