Studio time..past and present...

slept about 3 or 4 hours...woke up...getting tired again...just listened to an interview with producer, Alan Moulder...talked of his work with Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain...I think it is worth checking out: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/media/s2719355.htm. There were bits about the ups and downs of recording and it reminded me of times recording in Mindlikewater and D_composure...I think the actual recording process for Mindlikewater has always been fairly smooth...it's the mix that seems tough there...so much going on...poor Joey and Ryan...lol...I think in the early D_compoure stuff, Ryan had an easier time...things were unison more often...more lyrical focus...The Future Wave record was a huge noisy undertaking...A mess to mix...but the struggle is in the sound and a part of what it became...I am very proud of all this work...with Mindlikewater back in the studio...The Air Apparent recording an EP...and various other things I am recording at home...I can't help but think about how different the process in the studio is now...the know how is there...the semi-new MLW tunes are still as all over the place as they always have been...but I feel ready to return to a more focused group of tunes...an album perhaps...I think Mindlikewater is certainly in a good place to do that...The Air Apparent is so new and I think there is a charm there because of that...will be fun music to record...after all this...and random tracks here and there for other projects...I really look forward to getting a solo record recorded...and possibly some new D_composure...right now I have enough on my plate...but I am excited to finish the work I have started and play some shows with MLW and The Air Apparent...showcasing the new EPs coming out from each band...maybe then I can start work on the other things...time will tell...sleepy time...
